Optical Communication Services of New England Was formed in January of 1990 as a General Partnership in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The four general partners combined their years of experience and applied it to all phases of the communications industry that utilize fiber optic cable. Two of the four partners remained and have striven to maintain the highest quality possible, a trait they acquired early in their beginnings with fiber optics. This commitment of quality workmanship makes OCSNE a leader in the industry.
Toby Renzoni and Scott Stokes began splicing and terminating fiber optic cable
with the former Brand-Rex Corporation. Toby began in April 1985, eventually
becoming the Field Service Supervisor in 1987, and a Systems Engineer in 1988.
In April of 1989, he accepted a position with US Sprint as the Northeast Test
and Acceptance Engineer. In January 1990, he co-founded
Optical Communication Services of New England with Scott Stokes.
Scott began splicing and terminating fiber optic cable in May 1986 at the Brand-Rex Corporation becoming a Field Project Manager later that year. In 1987, he became the Lead Fiber Optic Technician for Mc Court Cable Systems of Boston. In 1989, he worked for the state of Massachusetts as the Outside Plant Cable manager as the Amherst Telecom Project. Prior to Scott’s involvement with fiber optics, he was a Line Construction Foreman for White Mountain Cable Construction Company.
OCSNE has been involved in a variety of fiber optic installations. Our experience ranges from installation for power utility companies, cable television, local area networks, wide area networks, telephone companies and telecommunication alternative access providers. This diversity has enabled OCSNE to become a resource to their customer throughout the many phases of a fiber optic installation. Through the years, OCSNE has recognized the importance of a well-documented installation. They have developed a documentation package that is easy to read, straight forward, and practical. Our package contains information that benefits the cable plant managers and the technicians.
